Dear Mr. Williamson,

The photograph of Bridgg by Schellineks arrived today and I am pleased
to send it on to you. Ifithink the definition on this print is quite
good but there appear tojgcratches on the negative so the drawing will
have to be rephotographed. I hope that the print is adequate for your
purpose.

The details of the drawing are as fol1ows:-

Measurements: 17.8 x 28.9 om. .
Technique : Graphite; pen aha light brown ink; the graphite rubbed
and moistened in some areas to form a wash.

Translation

K Drawn at the village of Bridge when one comes from Dover to Canterbury

or Cantigborgh. This place has got its name from the bridge over the
little river that lies between the roads leading through a little valley.’

I am afraid that no research has yet been done on this drawing and that
we have no information in our files on Sehellincks. We would be most
interested to hear of anything you might be able to tell us about

Bridge or our drawing.
