β€˜"7 we at. 3, 35β€˜? Carp, Ontario, Canada. KOA 1L0 18 March 1980. Chief Librarian, Bridge Public Library, Bridge, Kent. Dear Sir: I am working on a family history research project and as many relatives seem to have come from Bridge, I wonder if you could assist me with any of the following points. 1. Is there more than one C. of E. church in Bridge? Crockford's directory listed St.Peter's but I am not sure if this is the main parish church or not. 2. Could you give me the name of the present incumbent? 3. Are there any local history books published in the last 50 years or so, which describe the village of Bridge, articles in magazines or the like? I would be most interested to learn something about it. 4. The period I am chiefly interested in at present is the 19th century. Do you know of any directories β€˜or similar which might list the residents of that time? I believe my gr.grandparents had a bakery and/or confectioners shop in Bridge around 18601 1870 but unfortunately my information is very vague. The name was Edward White. I do not want to put you to a great deal of trouble but if you are able to help with any of the above I shall appreciate it very much. Thanking you in advance. Yours truly, (Mrs.) J. Plewes.
