You probably think we never received your letter of

3 May requesting a photograph of the drawing of Bridge

by Schellinks! I can assure you we did and I immediately
ordered a print for you. Unfortunately the photographic
department is short staffed and the print had not arrived
before I went on two weeks‘ holiday. Since the second
week in June I have been coping with the backlog of post,
and have only just begun to deal with photographic requests.
My apologies for the delay.

I'm afraid prints at present don't seem to be of a very good
quality, so before I send the one of Bridge I thought I had

better explain. The print seems to me to be rather pale
and also has a white line running across in part of which
appears to be a scratch on the glossy surface. If you

require a very good print I shall re—order one — but this
may take a few weeks to come through, due to shortage of
staff (another problem!) in the photographic department.

If the quality required is not too crucial I shall-send the
print we already have.

As soon as I hear from you I shall put your request, whatever
it may be, in hand.
