A partnership between Kent County Council_ and the Dean and Chapter of Canterbury administers the Archives, which are part of the Kent Archives Service.. - OPFNTNG H0flRS The searchroom is open to the general public: MONDAY - WEDNESDAY 9.30 am - 4.30 pm Classes and group visits can be arranged by appointment on Thursdays and Fridays. The office will be closed to the public on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and other times by prior arrangment. REGISTRATION s. nooxmc 0 t . A ,. The office participates in the County Archive Research Network scheme. Access to the searchroom will be allowed on production of a reader's ticket. This can be issued on the day of the visit on production of suitable identification, giving name and address, and two‘ passport sized photographs. It is necessary to reserve a desk prior to visiting the office. The main collection consists of: 13,000 items printed before 1001; 16,000 printed 1801-1900; and 15,000 twentieth century titles. In addition, the Library houses about 3,500 books from the beginning of printing to the mid—nineteenth century which form the Mendham collection deposited by the Law Society of London. The Printed Books are administered by the Dean and Chapter of Canterbury in close association with the University of Kent at Canterbury. ‘ OPFNTNC HOURS The Library is normally open: MONDAY ~ FRIDAY 9.30 .am - 4.30 pm BOOKTNG Please make an appointment to visit the Library. We only have a small staff and it is possible we may not be able to accommodate you if you do not give us advance notice. Please bring some form of identification with you.
