Dear Mr Williamson,

Thank you for your letter of the 3rd of this month. I am afraid that it is
now a few years since I was heavily involved in researching my book on the
East Cheshire silk industry (recently published by the Royal Commission at
14.95) and many of the names have now slipped my mind. However, although the
name Gregory does not ring a bell with me it would be worth your while
contacting Congleton public library who have several of the early 19th century

trade directories for Congleton and also Yates’ History of Congleton written
in 1822.
