In pursuance of an Order of the County Council, made in r894, the name of the Urban District was altered to Broadstairs and St. Pevter’s, and in 1895 was divided into two wards, Broad- stoirs and St-. Peter’s. The modern extension of the town of Broadstairs has a fine promenade on the summit of low clifls, but in the older part the streets are narrow and tortuous.
