pleasant thing to be thankful, make us truly thankful for all thy mercies from
time to time bestowed upon us, especially as at this time when danger, noise
and fumes have been removed from the midst of the community in which we
live; grant that we thy servants may so use all the blessings given us that we are
unfeignedly thankful and dedicate again our lives to thy purpose. So that at the
end we may come to thy eternal kingdom, through the salvation of thy son our
Lord. Jesus Christ. Amen.

Let us beseech with earnest prayer our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the straight
path of them that journey, and the unwearying salvation ofthemthat sojourn,
that he may bless his servants who dwell in this place, and those who pass by,
that they may be brought safely to their homes and prosper in the spirit as
they travel the road ol life. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. whom to know is

The Benedictus:

Most gracious God, we humbly beseech thee. as for this kingdom in general, so
especially for the High (‘ourt of Parliament, under our most religious and
gracious Queen at this time assembled: That thou wouldest be pleased to Y.
direct and prosper all their consultations to the advancement of thy glory, the
good of thy (‘hurch. the safety, honour, and welfare of our Sovereign, and her
dominions, that all things may be so ordered and settled by their endeavours,

Prayer:

0 Lord, who hast given us the renewed opportunity to enjoy the quietness of the
countryside and the comradeship of community within the village, waken our
minds to the benefits we enjoy so that we reach out to one another in Christian
love and resolve for the furtherment of thy kingdom; through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Grant, we beseech thee, Almighty God, that thy family may walk in the ways of
salvation, and, by following the counsels of St. John the Baptist, may come in
safety unto him whom he preached, thy son, Jesus Christ our Lord; who liveth
and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God world without end.
