Early in the morning, armed with spades, forks, a measuring tape, a dozen stakes and some straps, they invaded the village recreation ground. Their object was to plant 10 ornamental trees ~ willow, flowering cherry, almond and crab app1e—some of which had been donated by local well- wishers. to improve the ameni- ties of the ground_ In an hour or so the trees were in a neat row behind the riverside fence of the ground, with Mrs. M_ A.
