He had been ill only for a fortnight or so and news of his passing occasioned widespread regret in the village, where for many years he had been a. popular and well- known figure---he was a native of Bethersden. The funeral took place at Bridge on Monday, the Rev. C. T. Mourilyan offi- eiating, and the mourners were: The widow, Mr. and Mrs. L.
