social evening was held in the
village hall. This year’s departure
from the usual format was a great
success._ Members and their friends
provided a substantial American
supper, and were entertained by an

accordion trio, which provided not '

only a sing-song, but a musical

FISH news: A new gentle exercise
class for the over 605 has started in
the Bridge Methodist Church on
Thursday mornings. At present it
runs from 10 to 11.30am with a
break for coffee. The cost is‘ £2.52
per session. — '

village hall on Thursday, December

Delivery: A Christmas card
delivery service is organised by the
Nailbourne Scout group, for Bridge
village only. This will operate from
December 6 to 20. Stamps are still
at 10p, and decorated Christmas
posting boxes will be at the ,
following locations: Laurie
Wakeham (butcher), Plough &
Harrow, Nicholas James
(hairdresser); Bridge News
(newsagent); White "Horse;
Bridgway Stores‘

The boxes will be emptied
regularly and all stamped mail
clearly and correctly addressed will
be delivered before Christmas.

Church news: Bridge family ,
service for families with young

‘ children, but open to members of

the church family of all ages, will
start in January on the second
Sunday of each month 7
(Bekesbourne family service now
on the first Sunday of the month),
11 to 11.45am - but stay for coffee.
The first service is at 11am on
Sunday, January 14.

Services: On Sunday, Sam BCP _
Communion is at St Mary’s
Church, Patrixbourne, 6pm Advent
carol service at St Peter’s bridge
