' The “chairman John Bishop wel- comed everyone and reported that another successful seas-on of talks and outings had taken place. The membership numbers were increasing all the time and it would probably become necessary to find a larger venue such as the Bridge Primary School Hall for the lectures and other indoor events. He also warned members to book early for outi__.ngs, as for various reasons it may be necessary to limit numbers. After this meeting . there would be a further 15 events throughout the season before the next annual meeting, covering a wide variety of historical "subjects. He also went on to thank all the members of his comrnitteefor all their hard work over the last 12 months and introduced Maurice Raraty, the society’s treasurer, who provided a healthy statement of accounts for the previous year, and also thanked the Independent examiner Mr L.F. Nicholls for con- firming the accounts.
