Eynon 19 Bridge Down BRIDGE NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH SCHEMEV Following a recent public meeting I am pleased to announce the formation of a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme in Bridge village._ We must thank the Police force for their invaluable assistance in setting up the scheme and for their continued active support. They confirm that whereverysuch a scheme is in operation the crime rate decreases significantly. A number of Insurance companies will reduce premiums where schemes such as this are in operation. ‘ objects’ ‘The obiectives of the scheme are:— (q ‘ (a) To reduce the chances of burglaries and other crimes in our community by being aware of what is going on around us. (b) To report to the police suspicious circumstances. (c) To receive advances knowledge of criminal activities lo the surrounding area. “(d)” To disseminate information to help protect yourself ans» your home. (e) To loan invisible marking Kits on request. 1 (f) To arrange cycle marking sessions. (3) To obtain reduced Insurance premiums from certain Insurance . companies. ’ (h) To Keep a “Friendly eye” on each other in case of any sort of trouble or emergency. method The objects are achieved by means of information being yusuud in both_directions from Police HQ to the Village Co—ordinntcr then to the Area Co-ordinators and so to the Link memoprs WHO will Contact every household in the village. Signs will be erected at all roads into the village publicising the scheme. Stickers will be displayed in house and shop windows throughout the area. £Veryone_is asked to co—operate by reporting anything unusua or suspicious in one of the following ways:— (a) To your Link member. l (b) To your Area Co~ordinator. (b) Keep a note of anything unusual or suspicious and report it to your Link member or Area Co—ordinator, (your information will be transmitted back to the police). (DO NOT FORGET MOTOR VEHICLE OR MOTOR CYCLE REGISTRATION NUMBERS). (C) Inform_your neighbour; Area Co-ordinator, or Link member if you are going away, or anything unusual is to happen at your address (eg reglazing or building). (d) If you have a shop, business or public house and you can sponsor one of these circulars covering every householu in Bridge, contact your Area C0—ordinator or myself. Finally, remember this scheme can reduce criminal activity in Bridge if we all act together. It would certainly be helped if we all display window stickers for the would be criminals to see.
