In the name of God Amen the XVIIItl1 day of Marche in the year of our Lord a thousand five hundreth
fower skoore and two. And in the XXVth yeare of the reigne of our sovereigne lady Quene Elyzabeth, I
Peter Colsonsack of the paryshe of Brydge in the Countye of Kente yeoman being syck in my bodye
and in good and perfect remembrance prayse be given to god doe make and ordayne this my last wyll
and testamente in manner and forme following. Fyrst and before all other things I remytte my soule into
the handes of almighty god, acknowledging mye manyfolde offences committed against his devyne
maiesty, and trusting in his infinite mercye To have forgyvenes of the same, and to be one of the
number of his electe, And I wyll mye bodye to be buryed in the Churche of Brydge aforsayde. Item, I
wyll for my burying in the Churche as much as order dothe require to be given, Requyrynge Mr
Parteyge’s good wyll and Goodman Bargrose with the residence of my neighbour To lye in the Churche
of the parish aforesaid paying therefore. Item, my wyll is to have a sermon paying therefore tenne
shyllings to be payde ,made by Mr Fountayne .

Item I gyve to the poore of Brydge tenne shillings to be distributed where most needs it, as shall seeme
good to my executor and overseer. Item I will to the reparatyon of Brydge steeple tenne shillings which
is nowe owinge unto me by the parishioners of the same paryshe.

Item I gyve unto Susanne my daughter twenty pounds Item I give unto Joanne my daughter twenty
pounds But if it happen anye of them dye beinge unrnarryed, the otheer to be her heyre. And if yt
happen they bothe shall dye unmaryed to remayne unto my wyef. And if my wyef shall dye my
daughters lyvynge and beinge unmaryed ,and afterwards shall dye being unmaryed to remayne to mye
three sonnes and equallye to be devyded. Itembl wyll my daughter Susanne tenne pounds of her money
at one and twentye yeares of age, the other at three and twenty years of age. Item I wyll my daughter
Jone tenne pounds of her money at one and twentye yearse of age, the reste likewise at XXIII years of
age. Item I wyll unto my wyef the profett of all my lands and tenements lyenge and beinge

mye three sonnes twenty shillings a peece yearlye. The yeare beginning at Mychaelmas nexte comminge
being yeare of our Lord 1583 Item I wyll yf anye part or parcell of the same money which shall be dewe
unto anye of my three sonnes, to be behynde and unpayed in parte or in all in the which it ought to be
payed it shall be lawful for either of them to strayne the landes lyenge and being in the parish of Upper
Hardres. Item I wyll unto my wyef all my goods and moveables discharging my debts legacies and
funeralls. Item I gyve unto John Brabson a cowe to be delivered unto him at my wyefs dyscretyon. Item
I give unto everyone of my godchildren a Xlld a peece. Item I wyll to Roberte my sonne and to his
heyre or heyres males for ever all my landes and tenements lyenge and beinge in the parysshes of
Brydge and Nether Hardres after my wyves decease paying unto my son Wyllyam fourtye shillings a
year forever by the like cause of dystresse as aforesaid wrote of his lands before named. Item my wyll
ys yf the saide Roberte my sonne shall dye without heyre or heyres male of his bodye lawfully begotten
To remayne to Wyllyam my sonne and his heyre or heyres male for ever. Further if my sonne Wyllyam
shall dye without heyre or heyres male of his bodye lawfiilly begotten To remayne to my sonne Rychard
and his heyre or heyres male for ever. Item I wyll yf my three sonnes shall dye without heyres males of
their bodies lawfully begotten, to remayne to next heyre and soe to contynewe. Item I gyve unto my
sonne Rycharde and to his heyres males of his bodye lawfully begotten for ever all my landes and
tenements lyenge and beinge in the paryshe of Upper Hardres afier my wiefs deeease. Item yf my sonne
Rychard shall dye without heyre or heyres male of his bodye lawfully begotten To remayne unto my

next heyre and soe to contynue. Item I wyll unto John Brabson my some in lawe eight pounds of the
which I wyll fourtyne shillings to be payde within one month after my decease.Item I wyll that my
tennante Austin shall contynue fower years in the house which he now dwelleth. Item I wyll gyve and
bequethe unto Amye my wyef the profett of one lease bought of Roberte Bennett term of his lyfe on
condycyon that she not sell yt. And afier her decease to remayne to mye sonne Roberte Item I doe make
and appoynte Amye my wyef myne sole executrix, And Wyllyam my some with John Burten myne
