Dear Parishioners of Bridge, Patrixbourne and Bekesbourne, On Monday, 2nd May, at 7.30 p.m. in Bridge Village Hall we are holding a meeting of all who are willing to help at Bridge Summer Fete on the 21st May. This meeting will be held jointly with members of the Bridge I do hope many of you will ; come and support this Fete on the 21st May. Called to prepare for His sevenfold gifts. Bekesbourne are holding their Maye Fayre on the 7th May at Bekesbourne School grounds. It would be rather nice if we could have mutual support. I am confident that all will combine together to make these occasions pleasant and financially successful. At Bridge we are hoping to have a band in attendance and there will be the usual full programme of stalls and activities. During this month we have the great feasts of Ascension Day and Whit Sunday.’ iAscension Day reminds us that Jesus has taken our humanity into His Eternal Presence in Heaven, where He ever liveth to make intercession for this our humanity. In this age, when we are preoccupied with things present and we seem to be in the grip of material things and forces, it is well to be reminded of the Lordship of Christ and that all things have been committed in His hands of things in heaven and 'things on earth. Whit Sunday reminds us of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Church. We in our generation still live in the Dispensation of the Spirit, and His gifts are no less available to us on Whit Sunday 1966 than on the first Pentecost. "The Church, then, was both waiting and expectant to receive the promise, and we too are Thus blessed and enriched we will be enabled in a yet fuller way to Praise and bless the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Many will be pleased to know that Mr. David Maples. °uT Previous organist, was made a Deacon at & Lent Ordination at Croydon Parish Church. We Wish DaVid every happiness and blessing in his new sphere of work.at Bu0klands, Dover.
